My Community Service Reflection Essay
I felt determined and ecstatic to start my community service. I felt determined because I wanted to make everyone satisfied and jubilant by the end of my service. I felt ecstatic to start my community service because I really wanted help the community around me. I also felt determined to start my service because without volunteers like me, nothing would happen.
All of the volunteers at where I was completing my community service hours made an impact on me. All of the volunteers made an impact on me because everytime they come to help, they devote their time helping the less-fortunate.
This even made me say, “Wow, these people really do act like Jesus.”
The volunteers that were helping around where I was getting my service hours, were very welcoming and glad to have me. When the volunteers were welcoming and glad to have me, this is what motivated me to help others out just like them, acting like Jesus.
There are a lot of work to to aid low-income people, but ensuring a meal to someone in need helps their family the most. For my community service to people, I volunteered at two of my local food pantries, the Excelsior Community food pantry and the San Francisco Community Fellowship food pantry. I chose to volunteer at a food pantry because I know there are a lot of low-income families and even worse the poor have nothing to eat. By helping pass out food to people who need them I feel a deep sense of accomplishment by knowing I helped a family get food on the table to eat.
One of my responsibilities at the food pantry was that I had to check for any rotten or moldy produce and if I did find any I had to throw it away. Another one of my responsibilities was to hand out food when people come through my station. A skill that I used during my community service was my edicate. I used my edicate during my community service because I wanted everyone to smile after I gave them food. Everytime at the end of my service, I know that I am dwindling the amount of hunger in the community around me and making everyone happy to have something to eat.
At the end of my service, I felt that I acted like Jesus and made hunger vanish in my neighborhood/community. I felt that I acted like Jesus because Jesus also aided the needy and poor too like I did at the food pantry. I also felt like I made hunger disappear in my neighborhood/community because I with the help of the rest of the volunteers gave out abundant amounts of food to plenty of people to enjoy and eat.
In conclusion, I enjoyed volunteering at 2 of these food pantries because I assisted a lot of people getting the nutrition they require. This experience really opened my eyes at the number of people that need nutrition. I also learned that we always need volunteers to help and to make everyone joyous.
