In this photograph, I am showing my Religion Family Life Activity on how a movie and a song shows respect. For my movie I chose Mary Poppins. I chose the movie Mary Poppins because she shows respect by teaching Jane and Michael to love each other like brother and sister. For my song I chose You are Mine by David Haas. I picked this song because it shows respect by describing that people are always here showing love for you.

We Should All be Treated Equally- A Religion Reflection
In my personal point of view, I think that everyone should be treated equally. Some people may not be treated equally as others and an example of that are the homeless. The homeless don’t have sufficient money of a home to dwell in, but some people choose to make fun of them. All of this towards the homeless and others is very rude. Sometimes I ask myself why people make fun of the homeless and others when their lives aren’t that different from everyone elses. Even though we have a little more things than them doesn’t mean to act disrespectful towards the homeless. Everyone who is rude to the homeless should realize that we are all human beings and that they don’t have all the things you have in life.

In this piece of work I am showing you right now is called my We Should All be Treated Equally- A Religion Reflection assignment. I am choosing to showcase this piece of work because it is very moving to the heart and teaches everyone a lesson. That lesson is realize that we are all human beings and that they don’t have all the things you have in life.
8th grade religion schoolwork starts here
In this photograph I am showcasing my group's (Samuel, Jessica, and Jason) flyer for change. Our group chose to draw a flyer about stopping the littering to save the animals. We chose to do this topic because a lot of animals get killed every year because of trash people leave all over the place. I chose to showcase this flyer because it is advertising how much we love and care for our animals.
The Movie "Bella" Reflection
In the movie “Bella” I learned that we are always making moral decisions in our daily life between right and wrong. The largest moral decision in the movie is Nina deciding whether to to keep her baby or adopting it. Nina deciding whether to keep her baby or not made me realize that you have to listen to people before you make your decision. A reason why I think Nina choose to keep her baby is because at the beginning of the movie, Nina said she never wanted to lose another life. Also, when Jose was sharing his story of when he accidentally hit the little girl Nina realized she wanted to keep the baby even more. Something else this movie made me realize is that you always need to listen to your conscience and what people say. You need to do this because it is your decision. It is up to you whether you want to make the right or wrong decision. The last thing this movie made me realize is that when you make the right decision, you feel a sense of accomplishment rush through you.

In this paragraph that I wrote, I am showcasing the reflection from the movie I watched with my classmates, Bella. This movie is about how Nina was making a moral decision between whether to keep her baby or not. Then a chef, Jose, who was working where Nina is working helps her overcome her moral decision. I chose to display this paragraph because it shows you how making a good moral decision makes you feel very accomplished.
Our Beatitude: Religion Activity
In this video, I am showcasing my group's Beatitudes skit. I am not shown in this video, however, I am the camera man in this skit. I chose to showcase this video because it demonstrates the acting skills our group has. Also, to promote the Beatitudes and how to live it.
Respect Life Prayer
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
Dear most gracious, beloved Guardian Angels,
Pray for those who perform abortions. Pray for the families, doctors, and nurses. Hopefully they realize the moral decisions the parents are making when they want to perform an abortion. We ask you, guardian angels, to intercede for the conversion of the parents. Please help them be encouraged to find other options than committing an abortion. Help other families who have not chosen to perform an abortion inspire other families to follow in their footsteps. Help families realize that their children are the children of God and that they are unique and special in their own ways. Make clear to them that their children are beautiful and cannot be replaced with another child.
Holy Guardian Angels, watch over these families as they go through these difficult and burdensome times.
Amen.

In this assignment, i had to create a prayer about hope for the mothers to change their minds to not to perform an abortion. I chose to showcase this because I wanted everybody to know that abortions are up to the family's decision to perform an abortion or not.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament Reflection
During the explanation of the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, I learned that this is a very serene and respectful time. I learned that this time is spent praying to God adoring Jesus represented in the Eucharist. I saw that Father Cameron was also giving respect to the Blessed Sacrament with incense and praying. Alvin, the visiting seminarian, said that he thought mass is boring, but believing in God isn’t boring. I truly do believe in what Alvin said with believing in God isn’t boring. I think we should be never be bored in God. We should never be bored with God because he created us in his image and he always cares for us.

In this classwork assignment, I had to write about what the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament meant during one of the seminarian's visit to our Church. I talked about how the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament was a time for quiet reflection for praying. I chose to showcase this because I wanted to explain what the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament meant to me.

7. Pray for the living and the dead
1. Help the sinner

- To help a sinner, you can also pray that they may one day stray away from making sin.
2. Teach the ignorant
- You can educate a person about what is right and wrong, such as teaching them about the Ten Commandments.
- You can also teach them to go to confession or perform the Sacrament of Reconciliation every time they have done something wrong or have disobeyed a commandment.

- You can talk to a person who is doubtful and educate them to look on the better side of things instead of looking at the bad side of things.
- Give advice on how this person can be more hopeful than before.

- If someone you know is having a difficult time in their life, pray for them.
"Gimme Shelter" Personal Reflection
The movie I watched contained many important things and life lessons. One thing that was important in the movie is about your Catholic faith. Like the priest in the movie said, “God put you here for a reason.” I truly do believe in the statement the priest had said to Apple because God will never abandon you and he will always take care of you every single day in your life. Something else that was important in the movie is that you should never stray off from people who want to take care of you. In the movie Apple tried to run away from a caring and compassionate man and his wife. The priest that helped Apple reminded me of what Father Cameron said when he was talking about the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. When Father Cameron talked about how God isn’t boring, and when the priest was talking to Apple, they both were talking about how God s great.

Religious Freedom Essay
When you think of religious freedom, you think of the rights you have in the 1st Amendment of the Constitution. Specifically in the rights of the 1st Amendment, you have the right to the freedom of religion, which means you can practice any religion you want in the U.S. In my opinion, religious freedom is crucial in expressing your joy for the type of religion you are in. There are ample reasons why I think religious freedom is vital in today’s society.
One way I think religious freedom is crucial in today’s society is because a lot of people would get very fierce. One way people would get very enraged is when some countries don’t have a Constitution similar to ours. If countries don’t have something similar to the 1st Amendment, people will most likely pack up and leave go to another country where there is religious freedom. They will flock over to a place where they will worship anytime at any day. In a socialist country there is no religion. That’s why there is no religious freedom.
Another way I think that religious freedom is important in today’s society is because this allows people to relieve their stress and worries from them. One way for everyone to do this is by going to their place of worship. Going to their place of worship provides you with ample time to worship and pray to your god. Another way for people to feel at peace is to celebrate their religion together such as praying a prayer before and after eating. Also, thanking your god of your religion for every single blessing he/she has given you each and everyday.
Another way religious freedom means a lot to people is that for some people, going to the place of worship is a habit not obligation. Going to the place of worship is also some people’s life. This means that they don’t go because they need to go, everyone goes because they want to. The place of worship is truly a sacred and holy place that plays an important role in expressing your religious freedom. Thank the god or gods that you worship for giving you the great and amazing joy in religious freedom everyday.
Whether you are Catholic, Muslim, Presbyterian, or any other religion all have one thing in common. All religions worship one or more god and that god or gods all play an especially vital role in your life and in your religious freedom. These god or gods are all very important in your life and nobody can take that god or gods away from you. This goes the same way as religious freedom. Nobody in this whole world can take away the religious freedom you have because you hold and control this power. The power of when and where to use your religious freedom.

"A Better Life" Movie Reflection
The movie, “A Better Life” exposes many true and hurtful things about today’s society. One of the things that shocked me is that Carlos (Mr. Galindo) is an immigrant from Mexico. There are also many parts when I felt sad and melancholy. One part when I felt sad is when Mr. Galindo was getting processed for deportation. Another heartbreaking moment is when Mr. Galindo and his son were speaking to each other about all the memories they both experienced all through their lives. There are also some parts that made me feel angry. One part that made me feel angry is when Santiago, the person who was looking for work, stole the truck Mr. Galindo was working so hard for. This movie really does make you experience many emotions because the movie symbolizes many social justice examples. |
